– Introduction to Ethics for Recovery Life Coaches and Peer Advocates (16 credit hours)

Ethics is a set of professional standards and principles of behaviors and actions for both individuals and organizations to maintain integrity between the professional and the client within the services that are provided. This curriculum presents a comprehensive introduction to ethical considerations and will explore why it is important, how to have boundaries and how to stay in your lane as a Recovery Life Coach / Peer Advocate.

– Introduction to MAT/MSR for Recovery Life Coaches and Peer Advocates (8 credit hours)

Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) and Medication Supported Recovery (MSR) can be important components of addiction treatment modalities and recovery pathways. The opportunity for those seeking recovery to craft a sustainable pathway that includes medication assistance can be enhanced with the support of a Recovery Coach. It is the goal of this training to offer peer professionals an opportunity to understand the history, concepts and varieties of MAT/MSR, as well as to explore their own perspective, biases, and actions in support of recovery pathways that include a medication component.

– Exploration of Self Care from the perspective of a Recovery Coach (6 credit hours)

This curriculum offers participants an exploration of Self-Care from the perspective of a Recovery Coach / Peer Advocate and as a personal pathway of wellness. Developing a sustainable Self-Care program is a proven contributor to a well balanced and resilient support for long-term recovery. Self-Care may be the measure by which recoverees evaluate a Recovery Life Coach / Peer Advocate authenticity.
