Hi, I'm Kara!
My name is Kara Bax and I am a Licensed Master Social Worker, LMSW. I received my Master
of Social Work Degree from the University at Buffalo, with a concentration in Trauma-Informed
Perspective. I have experience working as an Integrated Behavioral Health Clinician, serving
those seeking help for Mental Health and Addiction issues. I also have experience working with
Survivors of Domestic Violence and Offenders of Abuse. Currently, I am working towards being
licensed as a Clinical Social Worker and becoming certified as a Biblical Counselor.
I believe that having a Christ Centered Approach is essential to address soul issues that manifest as
emotional distress. This can include addiction (including substance use, food, pornography, and sex),
trauma, depression, anxiety, codependency, relationship conflicts, and family-of-origin issues. It is
my passion to help others know their identity in Christ and to go from a place of living in survival
mode, to truly living the abundant life God has for us!
I have overcome much conflict in my life and have truly experienced freedom and healing in my soul
that only God can provide. It is my passion to come along side others to find hope and freedom that
is ours to have!
I have been married to my wonderful husband for 10 years. Together we have two beautiful little
girls. As a family we are actively involved in our church and are a part of a ministry called
Gospel Facilitators International, where we partner with established ministries around the world
to further the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I also run a women’s ministry at my church, River Life
Chapel in Youngstown, NY.
